Public transport

The Malta Public Transport system is easily identified by the distinctive green and white buses. These buses are not only comfortable and environmentally friendly but also ensure passengers benefit from the highest levels of safety throughout their journey. All buses are low-floor and easily accessible for those using wheelchairs. Further information on accessibility can be found here.

Public transport operates daily between 05.30hrs and 23.00hrs while a night service also runs on Friday and Saturday nights as well as on public holidays and feast days.

With bus stops located all across Malta and Gozo, you can be sure to find a bus to and from almost anywhere. Different routes link the island’s major hubs to various destinations. This includes Valletta, the Mater Dei Hospital, University, Cirkewwa Ferry Terminal, Bugibba, Marsa Park and Ride, Pembroke Park and Ride, Sliema, St. Julians, the Malta International Airport and Victoria in Gozo. We also operate a number of express routes which are designated with an "X"; these have limited stops and operate to and from the Airport from different localities. For further information on Airport Routes, please click here.
